VIDEO Farmers’ knowledge as a tool for building peace – International conference April 30th Civita Castellana

The Biodistrict della Via Amerina è delle Forre and Schola Campesina APS are welcoming organizations from Europe, the Balkans, the Caucasus and Central Asia in Civita Castellana for an exceptionnal conference. Invited organizations are all active in agroecology and knowledge sharing in their local context. For a great deal led by women, these organizations are the vibrant core of local and univisible agroecology which makes our food systems resilient and sustainable. In this crisis time, in addition to climate change and shocks, to pandemia and lock down situations, Eastern Europe is now facing a war and the rest of the continent is highly worried. Agroecology organizations -and their power to build strong local food systems- are an undervalued leverage for the urgent need of resilience but also for connecting people, valuing culture over identity, territory over land invasion, communities over power concentration. This international conference wants to show that agroecology organizations and schools are initiating a variety of actions that have the potential build resilient communities and unite our people in peace
